Paris, June 11th 2020 – Quarkslab, an industry-leading provider of application shielding software, announced today that the algorithms implemented in its white-box cryptography library, Epona Keys Shield have been validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This represents the first step and an essential prerequisite towards the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) validation.
FIPS-140 is a U.S. government standard created to ensure that cryptographic modules are designed according to security requirements to protect the integrity and authenticity of information protected by these components.

Epona Keys Shield algorithms have been validated for x86, x86-64, ARM, ARM64 architectures, and for Linux, iOS, OSX, Android operating systems with validation numbers C1778 to C1783 and C1790.
